The Experience in our office is unique in that all patients enter the practice through a comprehensive exam and work up with Dr. Cowhey. During this appointment, we will complete a thorough review of your medical history, dental history, and current concerns. In addition to an oral cancer screening, we will perform a meticulous physical evaluation of your head, neck, teeth, gums, occlusion (the way your teeth fit together and function), and TMJ.  All necessary radiography (x-rays) will be reviewed and all existing dentistry will be evaluated.

 

A review of findings will be presented in which we provide you with a tour of your mouth including any relevant photos to show areas of interest or concern. For individuals who are experiencing dental disease, we will take time to determine the likely etiology or cause of your condition and then provide customized prevention, treatment, and maintenance recommendations.  For patients interested in pursuing dental treatment we will also discuss in detail any risks, benefits, and alternatives that exist so that you will be able to choose the best course of action for you. If a referral to a dental specialist is required,
we will facilitate any appointment accommodations and transfer any necessary records
to ensure a smooth referral process.

Our Technical Team includes 3 Registered Dental Assistants and 4 Registered Dental Hygienists. All of the Technical Team are licensed and registered in the state of California. Supporting an office environment that is warm and friendly, our Office Manager and Appointment Coordinator greet every patient, and make every attempt to set appointments that can accommodate your personal schedule. The Business Office Team is also at your service to explain and facilitate insurance and financial arrangements.

 

Our team's commitment extends beyond your office visits. We stay in touch through texts, emails, and phone calls per your preference. Dr. Cowhey is available after hours to review your treatment with necessary specialists and to cover emergencies. We will send a note and call to confirm upcoming appointments and strive to make your experience in our office personable, professional, and enjoyable.
